To all teachers across the country, a Very Wonderful Teacher’s Day.

On this auspicious day, I thank my school teachers, college teachers who mould me what I am today….

There’s a tools Bloodshed Dev-Cpp which works under the gcc and Mingw is suitable for windows 7 64 bit OS. Also, if you have Microsoft visual C++, then it’s a good choice to run under windows 7 64bit.

So here are the various C compilers for 64bit windows 7 OS

• Bloodshed Dev-Cpp
• Microsoft Visual Studio (64bit)
• Netbeans 6.9 with Mingw and GCC compiler (here you should have the jdk for 64bit OS)
• Eclipse with gcc and mingw (again, the jdk as well eclipse should be of 64bit)

In netbeans and eclipse the C compiler source path has to be set in to the path variable.

1. Sensor nodes are densely deployed
2. Energy is the main criteria for sensor nodes whereas it is secondary criteria for Adhoc nodes.

4. all the sensor nodes in any application has a common goal (all the nodes work for a particular application)
5. Sensor nodes are huge in numbers, so they don’t have global identification to locate the nodes.
6. Sensor nodes uses broadcasting whereas adhoc nodes uses point to point communicatio.

The main challenge behind the deployment of WSN is Energy. Energy is scarce resource, means once the battery is drained, there may be situation where the battery may not be replaced (Eg. dense forests, sea, ocean, etc) So in these cases, energy efficiency should be maintained between the sensor nodes.

Also sometimes the nodes will be thrown in to the sea or ocean for identifying fish availability. in those cases, the sensor nodes will not be taken back and hence these nodes are short lived. They give data for sometime and after that they die.

Because of these real world applications, the sensor networks are nowadays having good research potential when compared with the adhoc networks. So, what makes sensor nodes are different from than that of Adhoc Nodes.

• Sensor nodes are densely deployed and prone to failures frequently
• Number of sensor nodes are huge when compared with the adhoc nodes.
• Sensor network topology changes frequently
• Sensor nodes uses broadcasting whereas the adhoc nodes uses point to point communication
• Sensor nodes are limited in memory and power
• it has limited computation (simple operations)
• Above all, All sensor nodes have a common goal (for a particular achievement)
